May Newsletter

May Newsletter:


Hello parents, it is hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of yet another school year.  Here is what we have been studying in 5-22:

ELA:
We have continued to read the Banished from our Home to go along with our studies of Acadians.  We have also worked on grammar, especially the placements of commas.  The students also wrote a text to go along with the musical Pirates.

Sciences humaines:
We have begun looking at the Hudson Bay Company and their expansion in North America during the 18th century as well as their competition with the North West Company.  We have also begun to look at the animals, which were used during the Fur Trade.

Sciences de la nature:
We have been working on the on the human body.  Students identified the different systems and what their functions are.

Français:
This month we studied the novel Babouche est jalouse and students had an opportunity to illustrate, and make connections.

Math:
We continue to work on problem solving strategies.  We have also been working hard on division.

Art:
The students created  Pirate art piece with help from M. Elliot and they were placed in the gym to go along with the musical Pirates.

May 23rd: Victoria Day
