A few notes...

Hello,

Here are a few notes...

1. I will be giving a quiz in Sc. Nat next Thursday.  The quiz will cover reading information from a food label and comparing similar food products as well as the vocabulary on the food label.

We will do a review in class on Tuesday.

2. The French speeches are to be done by next Friday.  I will go over with them how to write a conclusion on Wednesday.  I ask that it be done by the end of next week so that I am able to look over them and then hand them back in order to be recopied or typed up.  Next weekend I will also ask them to practice presenting their speech.  Just a friendly reminder that all students will be presenting their speech on February 12th.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Math Quiz

Good morning,

I will be giving the students a Math quiz on Wednesday.  The quiz will cover long multiplication (2 digits x 2 digits).

We have been working in centres to review skills I sent home a sheet showing the different strategies that we have learned.

Here is an example:

42 x 42

tens x tens (40x40)=1600
tens x ones (40x2)=80
ones x tens (2x40)=80
ones x ones (2x2)=4
You then add it all together in order to get your answer (1764)

My big suggestions is for the students to practice their basic multiplication.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend,

Speeches

Good morning!

It is that time of year again!  Students will begin to write their speeches next week.

I sent home some information during the week about how to write a speech and the different parts of a speech.  We have also written a speech together.

I do ask that the students begin doing some research at home.   I will also give them time to do research and will eventually put the speech as their homework rather than LCM.

The classroom presentation will be on Tuesday February 12th and the school presentation will be on Wednesday February 20th.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
