LCM
During the holidays, I ask that the students read in French and in English. They are to read the French book I will be sending home with them. Upon return after the holidays, I will test them on that book to determine whether or not to change their level of books. They may also read a book of their choice in English and in French.
As always, please feel free to email me at scraciun@sjsd.net if you have any questions.
Happy Holidays!!!

A few notes
Good evening,
I just wanted to let you know that I will not make the students do home reading for the next couple of days.
Instead, I would like them to concentrate on 2 things:
1. I would like them to work on their Aboriginal French stories. I will send home their plan along with their journals. The criteria is that they have animals as the characters, something we have learned about a particular animal and a moral (e.g. in the story, How the Rabbit Lost His Tail, we learn why rabbits have a short tail, and that you should try not to get into trouble and constantly ask for help), spelling, punctuation, capitalization and verbs. I will then have them correct their stories at school independently, and with a partner.
2. I ask that they study verbs in present tense. I will send home a list of verbs to review, and I will give them a quiz next week. We will also do a review in class on a daily basis. The quiz will have sentences in which they need to insert the correct conjugation (e.g. Je (avoir) ____________ très froid parce que j'ai oublié mes mitaines. The correct answer would be "J'ai"). I will also ask them to conjugate a complete verb.
(e.g. Je suis Nous sommes
Tu es Vous êtes
Il/Elle est Ils/elles sont)
They can practice by playing the following game:

http://www.digitaldialects.com/French/VerbConj2.htm
In case they lose their sheet, here is a complete list of verbs they should study:
